Munster have paid their respects to the memory of their former Rugby Elite Performance Officer Greig Oliver during their trip to South Africa.

Oliver, 58, died following a tragic paragliding accident last July while he was in South Africa supporting Ireland, and his son Jack, at the World Rugby U20 Championship.

The former scrum-half, who played in two World Cups for Scotland, previously held the role of Elite Player Development Officer with the Munster Rugby Academy, playing an instrumental role in developing players for life in professional rugby.

He also held coaching roles with the Ireland U20s, the Munster ‘A’s, and the province’s age-grade sides.

Munster are currently in South Africa to take on Bulls, who they beat last Saturday 27-22 and the Lions, who they face this Saturday.

And on their first trip to the Springboks nation, the players have laid a wreath in honour of their 'dear friend' close to the sea in Cape Town.

"Greig made an immeasurable impact on Munster Rugby & we were privileged to call him a colleague and friend," Munster posted on their official Twitter account.
