Ireland to host England and Sweden at Aviva Stadium in women's Euro 2025 qualifiers

Ireland will face England at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday, April 9 in the second of their Women’s European Championship qualifiers.

They open the campaign four days earlier by visiting France.

The second window sees Ireland host Sweden at the Aviva on Friday, May 31 followed by a trip to Sweden on Tuesday, June 4 – they were unable to play at home due to the men’s friendly against Hungary clashing.

Finally, Friday July 12 is the date for Ireland’s trip to England – venue to be confirmed – with the concluding match four days later at home to France.

Aviva Stadium is unavailable in July, so the 10,000-seater Tallaght stadium will likely stage that game.

The one and only women’s fixture held at the national stadium, the opening Nations League fixture last September against Northern Ireland, attracted 35,944.

Tuesday’s draw in Nyon pitted Ireland into the group of death against the sides ranked third (France), fourth (England) and fifth (Sweden) in the FIFA standings, ranked - only bettered by World champions Spain and their predecessors USA.

Ireland will be involved in a round-robin pool, with the aim of achieving a top-two finish to secure a direct ticket to Switzerland.

Regardless if they finish third or fourth, Ireland are guaranteed entry into the playoffs system, facing a qualifier from League C in October with potentially a League B nation in the second two-legged part in late November.

"With our fixtures now confirmed for our EURO 2025 qualifiers, we will continue our preparation for these six huge games in Group A3 which will include two games at the Aviva Stadium," said Ireland head coach Eileen Gleeson.

"It is fantastic to have the opportunity to bring our fans back to the Aviva Stadium again and to hopefully attract many more new fans with the visit of England in April and Sweden in May. The support of our fans means so much to us and we are hoping to set new attendance records for both of these games.

"We would also encourage our fans to get the WNT Season Ticket when it becomes available on March 15th and support us all the way through in this campaign."
