Ireland international Mikey Johnston says Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wanted to keep him at the club but the queue of wingers ahead of him meant leaving on loan was the best option for his career.
The 24-year-old played nine times for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season, and made a further two appearances in the Champions League, before joining West Brom on transfer deadline day earlier this month.
