SIDELINED: Liverpool's Thiago Alcantara warms up.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago is set for yet another spell on the sidelines following his cameo off the bench in the Premier League defeat to Arsenal last Sunday.

Thiago made his long-awaited return from hip surgery as he came off the bench late on in the 3-1 defeat at the Emirates.

The appearance was the Spanish international's first in nine months but he is now likely to face further time out after picking up a fresh injury.

According to the Times' Paul Joyce, the 32-year-old midfield operator - who is in the final year of his contract - has suffered an unspecified muscle issue.

More details are likely to emerge on Thiago's situation in the coming days, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp set to face the media prior to their crucial meeting with Burnley this weekend.
