West Ham end dispute with Sporting Lisbon over failed transfer

In less than savoury exchanges between the clubs, Sporting's president referred to West Ham’s owners as "the Dildo Brothers".

West Ham have resolved their differences with Sporting Lisbon after their pursuit of William Carvalho sparked a war of words, the club have announced.

The news follows a bout of claim and counter-claim between the two clubs which has now been blamed on a "misunderstanding".
