WATCH: Dreadful red card challenge against UCD in Europa League

UCD’s Robbie Benson was lucky to escape serious injury after a nasty challenge during his side’s Europa League qualifying tie against Slovan Bratislava last night.

The Slovakian side were rightly reduced to 10 men after this studs-up effort by Nicholas Gorosito in the first half.

UCD played some fantastic football and were unlucky to lose 1-0, Adam Zrelak scoring the only goal, but will go into the second leg at home with the dream very much alive.

Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers were beaten 2-0 at home by Odd. Olivier Occean netted twice for the Norwegians, the first from the penalty spot.
