Jon Walters’ great response to daft comparison with Raheem Sterling

Republic of Ireland and Stoke City striker Jon Walters reacted well when dragged into the ongoing Raheem Sterling contract saga.

20-year-old Sterling is being castigated by some in the media for refusing to sign a £100k a week contract with current club Liverpool.

The Mail Online reported on the story with the slightly insulting headline: “Raheem Sterling snubbed £100,000 a week contract but has scored less goals than Jon Walters”.

Fair play to Walter, rather than take offence at the news outlet using him in the comparison - he’s decided to use it as a negotiating tool.
