Zlatan Ibrahimovic in big trouble after calling France a 's*** country'

Notoriously volatile footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a major rant caught on camera at the weekend - and it has made him very unpopular in the country he works in.

His side PSG were beaten by Bordeaux yesterday, despite Ibrahimovic scoring twice.

The Swedish striker clearly felt the officiating was to blame for the result and reacted by launching into a tirade against the assistant referee.

"In 15 years I've never seen a [good] referee in this s*** country,ā€ he shouted. ā€œIt doesn't even deserve PSG. You're not playing with amateurs."

He also called the official a ā€œf*****g a******eā€.

Whatever about attacking the referees, his comments about the country have not gone down well in France, with calls from the French sports minister Patrick Kanner for him to apologise.

Ibrahimovic seems to have realised he has gone too far, posting an apology on Instagram last night.

He said: ā€œRegarding my comments after tonights game; they were not against France or the French people.

I spoke about football. I lost the game, I accept that, but I can’t accept when the referee doesn’t follow the rules. It's not the first time, and I’m sick of it.

My sincere apologies if anyone was offended, or took it the wrong way.ā€
