Forget the Ballon D’Or: who’s your nominee for the Fallon D’Floor?

Arjen Robben earning his place on the list at the World Cup this summer

Introducing the first annual competition for the most outrageous dives in world football - the Fallon D’Floor award.

The tongue-in-cheek award came about as a result of jokes on Reddit about the worst simulation seen on a football field, particularly after some sterling work by diving players at the World Cup.

The organisers have gone to a lot of trouble to produce a website for the awards that includes a movie poster-style ad for each nominated dive.

Some familiar faces among the nominees - Arjen Robben and Cristiano Ronaldo both feature and are probably joint favourites to take the title.

But dives from less well known footballers are also worthy inclusions on the nominee list - particularly this spectacular effort from Leeds United’s Brazilian playmaker Adryan last month.

Check out all the nominations and vote on the excellent Fallon d’Floor webpage, maybe if enough people vote they can persuade the players to show up to an awards ceremony.
