The FAI have confirmed that James McCarthy has left the Republic of Ireland training camp and will take no part in Friday’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland.

The midfielder played in the Premier League with his club Everton at the weekend, but complained of tightness in his hamstring afterwards.
