Burnley v Man Utd Saturday 30 August 12.45pm

Burnley: Vokes still out for Burnley

Sean Dyche expects striker Sam Vokes to once again be Burnley’s only absentee when Manchester United visit Turf Moor.

Wales international Vokes has a long-term knee problem but was back doing some running on the grass at the Clarets’ training ground this week.

Dyche will likely recall a number of players who were rested in the Capital One Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, including goalkeeper Tom Heaton, long-serving defender Michael Duff and striker Danny Ings.

Provisional squad: Heaton, Trippier, Ward, Duff, Shackell, Mee, Wallace, Marney, Ings, Kightly, Jones, Taylor, Sordell, Reid, Jutkiewicz, Gilks, Long, Barnes, Hewitt, Arfield.

Di Maria in line for Utd debut

British record signing Angel Di Maria is fit to make his Manchester United debut in Saturday’s game at Burnley.

Midfielders Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera (all ankle) are out, as is utility man Jesse Lingard, who has a knee injury.

Defenders Luke Shaw (hamstring), Chris Smalling (groin) and Marcos Rojo (awaiting work permit) are unavailable, while doubts remain over right-back Rafael (groin) and midfielder Shinji Kagawa, who suffered concussion in Tuesday’s defeat at MK Dons.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Rafael, Valencia, Evans, Jones, M Keane, Blackett, James, Fletcher, Cleverley, Anderson, Young, Mata, Di Maria, Kagawa, Januzaj, Van Persie, Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Powell, W Keane.

Man City v Stoke Saturday 30 August 3pm

Man City: Double fitness boost for City

Manchester City strikers Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko are both fit for the Barclays Premier League visit of Stoke on Saturday.

There were reports Aguero may have suffered a training ground injury this week, but the club have dismissed them and the Argentinian continues to build his match-fitness. Dzeko has recovered from the blow to a thigh sustained against Liverpool on Monday.

New £32m defender Eliaquim Mangala and loan midfielder Frank Lampard remain short of match-fitness while striker Alvaro Negredo (metatarsal) is out long term.

Provisional squad: Hart, Caballero, Zabaleta, Sagna, Kompany, Demichelis, Nastasic, Boyata, Clichy, Kolarov, Silva, Nasri, Milner, Navas, Toure, Fernandinho, Fernando, Aguero, Jovetic, Dzeko.

Stoke: No starting place for Moses

On-loan Chelsea winger Victor Moses is likely to start on the bench at Manchester City on Saturday despite impressing on debut in midweek.

The Nigeria international featured significantly in the Capital One Cup victory over Portsmouth, but is not yet fit enough to play 90 minutes.

Utility player Geoff Cameron is out with a thigh problem sustained in the cup game, but defender Phil Bardsley and Bojan Krkic could be fit after being rested in midweek.

Provisional squad: Begovic, Bardsley, Wilson, Shawcross, Pieters, Sidwell, Whelan, Odemwingie, Arnautovic, Nzonzi, Biram Diouf, Sorensen, Wilkinson, Muniesa, Adam, Walters, Bojan, Crouch, Moses.

Newcastle v Crystal Palace Saturday 30 August 3pm

Newcastle: Williamson back for Newcastle

Central defender Mike Williamson returns to the Newcastle squad for Saturday’s home Barclays Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Williamson missed the 1-0 Capital One Cup second round victory at Gillingham through suspension after being sent off for two bookable offences at Aston Villa last weekend, but is available once again.

However, fellow defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (ankle) and midfielder Cheick Tiote (hamstring) are still missing, as are full-back Davide Santon and striker Papiss Cisse (both knee).

Provisional squad: Krul, Elliot, Janmaat, Dummett, Haidara, Coloccini, Williamson, S. Taylor, Anita, Abeid, Gouffran, Sissoko, Colback, Cabella, De Jong, Obertan, Aarons, Riviere, Ferreyra, Perez, Armstrong.

Crystal Palace: Dann in doubt for Eagles

Scott Dann remains doubtful for Crystal Palace’s Premier League trip to Newcastle on Saturday.

The former Blackburn defender is still battling a niggling hip problem, while Wilfried Zaha could jump straight into action after rejoining Palace on loan.

New Eagles manager Neil Warnock will definitely be without midfielder Joe Ledley, who could still be two weeks from overcoming his groin strain.

Provisional squad: Speroni, Hennessey, Mariappa, Ward, Delaney, McCarthy, Dann, Hangeland, Jedinak, O’Keefe, Bannan, Zaha, Garvan, Williams, Guedioura, Bolasie, Thomas, Puncheon, Kebe, Gayle, Murray, Campbell, Chamakh.

QPR v Sunderland Saturday 30 August 3pm

QPR: Faurlin lost to injury

QPR will be without Alejandro Faurlin for the visit of Sunderland after the midfielder suffered a serious knee injury for the third time in three years.

R’s manager Harry Redknapp could yet be without Faurlin for the remainder of the season after he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury – whilst loan signing Eduardo Vargas will be unavailable as he is still awaiting a work permit.

Charlie Austin (hamstring) missed the 4-0 loss at Tottenham last weekend but could be involved on Saturday as Redknapp is likely to recall a number of players who sat out the Capital One Cup defeat to Burton.

Provisional squad: Green, Murphy, Hill, Dunne, Ferdinand, Onuoha, Caulker, Yun, Simpson, Traore, Isla, Henry, Barton, Fer, Mutch, Hoilett, Phillips, Wright-Phillips, Taarabt, Austin, Remy, Zamora.

Sunderland: Poyet considers changes

Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet faces a series of selection decisions ahead of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to QPR.

Poyet has no fresh injury concerns, but having made six changes for the Capital One Cup second round victory at Birmingham in midweek, has options at his disposal.

Costel Pantilimon, Billy Jones, Liam Bridcutt, Adam Johnson, Jordi Gomez and Jozy Altidore all started at St Andrews, but Vito Mannone, Patrick van Aanholt, Lee Cattermole, Jack Rodwell, Will Buckley and Steven Fletcher will hope for recalls at Loftus Road.

Provisional squad: Mannone, Pantilimon, Jones, Van Aanholt, Brown, O’Shea, Vergini, Roberge, Cattermole, Bridcutt, Rodwell, Gomez, Larsson, Johnson, Buckley, Giaccherini, Mavrias, Wickham, Fletcher, Altidore, Graham.

Swansea v West Brom Saturday 30 August 3pm

Swansea: Monk could make changes

Swansea boss Garry Monk might change a winning league line-up for the visit of West Brom on Saturday.

New £8m defender Federico Fernandez made his debut in the much-changed Capital One Cup side against Rotherham in midweek and stands by to replace Jordi Amat for his Premier League bow as Swansea seek to build on opening wins over Manchester United and Burnley.

Swansea are still without knee victims Marvin Emnes and Leon Britton, the veteran midfielder having suffered a further fitness blow this week when told he would need a scan in three weeks’ time before he could get the all-clear to play again.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Routledge, Dyer, Sigurdsson, Bony, Tremmel, Tiendalli, Amat, Montero, Gomis, Bartley, Richards, Carroll, Fulton, Sheehan, Kingsley.

West Brom: Samaras debut on hold

Georgios Samaras must wait for his West Brom debut with the striker yet to regain match fitness.

The former Celtic forward will not play in the Baggies’ Barclays Premier League outing with Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday and will instead go away with Greece over the international break, where Hawthorns head coach Alan Irvine hopes he will get some game time with his country.

Fellow new signings Silvestre Varela and Joleon Lescott are also unavailable as they strive for fitness, while Sebastien Pocognoli is a doubt with hip and groin problems.

Provisional squad: Foster, Myhill, Wisdom, Baird, Davidson, Olsson, Yacob, McAuley, Dawson, Gamboa, Morrison, Brunt, Dorrans, Gardner, O’Neil, Mulumbu, Sessegnon, Ideye, Anichebe, Berahino.

West Ham v Southampton Saturday 30 August 3pm

West Ham: Up to six missing for Hammers

West Ham have early-season injury problems and could be without as many as six first-team players when they welcome Southampton to Upton Park on Saturday.

Diafra Sakho scored on his home debut against Sheffield United on Tuesday but was substituted with a back complaint and is now a doubt, with Matt Jarvis (thigh), Carl Jenkinson and James Collins (both hamstring) all ruled out by manager Sam Allardyce.

Captain Kevin Nolan (shoulder) and club-record signing Andy Carroll (ankle) are out for longer, with many of the side who sat out the Capital One Cup defeat to the Blades likely to return.

Provisional squad: Adrian, Jaaskelainen, Cresswell, O’Brien, Reid, Tomkins, Burke, Demel, Potts, Noble, Kouyate, Poyet, Diame, Morrison, Downing, Vaz Te, Cole, Sakho, Zarate, Valencia.

Southampton: Isgrove set to miss Hammers clash

Southampton midfielder Lloyd Isgrove is almost certain to miss Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to West Ham.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has revealed Isgrove is “not in a good physical way to play” after lasting only 30 minutes of the Capital One Cup tie against Millwall.

Otherwise Koeman has a fully fit squad to select from with no fresh injury concerns.

Provisional squad: Forster, K Davis, Clyne, Yoshida, Fonte, Hooiveld, Bertrand, Schneiderlin, S Davis, Wanyama, Reed, Ward-Prowse, Taider, Cork, Tadic, Pelle, Gallagher, Gardos.

Everton v Chelsea Saturday 30 August 5.30pm

Everton: Fitness test for Everton pair

Everton will assess the fitness of two former Chelsea strikers, Samuel Eto’o and Romelu Lukaku, prior to the Londoners’ visit to Goodison Park in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.

Eto’o has been short of match fitness, having only joined the club this week, while Lukaku has had a toe injury. Another player with Chelsea connections, on-loan winger Christian Atsu, cannot face his parent club.

Midfielder Steven Pienaar (groin) is definitely missing but midfielder Darron Gibson is still pushing to return after 10 months out. Midfield duo Ross Barkley (knee) and Bryan Oviedo (leg), and striker Arouna Kone (knee) remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Howard, Robles, Coleman, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Stones, Baines, Alcaraz, Barry, McCarthy, Osman, McGeady, Besic, Naismith, Mirallas, Lukaku, Eto’o.

Chelsea: Chelsea could be without Costa

Summer signing Diego Costa is a big doubt for Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Everton on Saturday.

The 25-year-old forward has missed the previous two days of training with a minor muscular injury and will be assessed on Friday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho has to make a decision on whether to include Fernando Torres amidst speculation over his future, while goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois could again be selected ahead of veteran Petr Cech.

Provisional Squad: Courtois, Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Zouma, Azpilicueta, Luis, Fabregas, Hazard, Oscar, Matic, Ramires, Mikel, Willian, Schurrle, Costa, Torres, Drogba

Aston Villa v Hull Sunday 31 August 1.30pm

Aston Villa: Duo make Villa returns

Ron Vlaar and Aly Cissokho will return for Aston Villa for the Barclays Premier League visit of Hull.

Skipper Vlaar (knee) and Cissokho (ankle) were not risked in Wednesday’s 1-0 Capital One Cup defeat to Leyton Orient.

Jores Okore (knee) is also sidelined although he is only expected to be out for a number of days while Christian Benteke (Achilles) and Libor Kozak (broken leg) remain out. Brad Guzan will replace Shay Given in goal after being rested in midweek.

Hull: Dawson set for Tigers debut

Hull’s new signing Michael Dawson could make an immediate debut as the Tigers look to put their Europa League disappointment behind them against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Dawson would be a like-for-like replacement for James Chester, who is suspended after last week’s red card against Stoke.

Manager Steve Bruce made six changes for the midweek clash against Lokeren and should restore the likes of Tom Huddlestone, Nikica Jelavic, Andrew Robertson and Tom Ince to his starting XI.

Provisional squad: McGregor, Harper, Davies, Bruce, Dawson, Rosenior, Robertson, McShane, Boyd, Elmohamady, Huddlestone, Livermore, Ince, Brady, Jelavic, Aluko, Sagbo, Quinn, Meyler.

Spurs v Liverpool Sunday 31 August 1.30pm

Tottenham: Poch undecided on Fazio

New signing Federico Fazio could make his Tottenham debut this weekend, although Roberto Soldado is a doubt to face Liverpool.

Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino has yet to decided whether centre-back Fazio, who arrived from Sevilla on Wednesday, will feature at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Soldado may be absent again with a neck and back issue, while Kyle Walker and Michel Vorm are out through injury.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Friedel, McGee, Naughton, Dier, Kaboul, Fazio, Chiriches, Vertonghen, Davies, Rose, Veljkovic, Capoue, Bentaleb, Sandro, Paulinho, Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela, Lennon, Chadli, Townsend, Holtby, Adebayor, Kane, Soldado.

Liverpool: Balotelli set for Reds bow

Summer signings Mario Balotelli and the fit-again Adam Lallana could make their Liverpool debuts in Sunday’s Barclays Premier League clash with Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Three players who sustained problems during Monday’s 3-1 loss at Manchester City, Alberto Moreno (ankle), Martin Skrtel (knock) and Glen Johnson (thigh), are to be assessed ahead of the Spurs match, with the latter of the trio looking most likely to miss out.

Jose Enrique will also have a late fitness test, but Jon Flanagan is not yet ready to return as he works his way back to fitness from his knee injury, and Daniel Agger and Oussama Assaidi remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Lovren, Skrtel, Enrique, Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge, Jones, Manquillo, Toure, Sakho, Lucas, Can, Lambert, Markovic, Moreno, Balotelli, Lallana.

Leicester v Arsenal Sunday 31 August 4pm

Leicester: Cambiaso may wait for foxes debut

Leicester are waiting to see if they first receive international clearance for new high-profile signing Esteban Cambiasso before making a decision on his availability for Sunday’s Barclays Premier League clash with Arsenal at the King Power Stadium.

Former Argentina international Cambiasso signed a one-year deal with City on Thursday after becoming a free agent following his release from Inter Milan after a 10-year spell with the Serie A giants.

Definitely ruled out of the game with the Gunners are midfielder Matty James (shin) and defender Matthew Upson (foot), otherwise manager Nigel Pearson has a full squad to choose from.

Provisional squad: Szczesny, Debuchy, Chambers, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Wilshere, Ramsey, Sanchez, Cazorla, Martinez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Campbell, Miquel, Rosicky, Bellerin, Diaby, Sanogo, Mertesacker, Podolski, Ozil.
