Young Liverpool fan set to play Roy the boy

11-year-old Craig Keane Harrington from Ballincollig has been cast to play a youthful Roy Keane in the upcoming film 'Rockmount'.

The only problem is Craig happens to be a Liverpool fan and his favourite player is Daniel Sturridge.

The film will be directed by Dave Tynan, features an all-Cork cast and will premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh in July.

Speaking to the Irish Examiner about the casting director Tynan said: “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever cast. Craig just made it too hard not to pick him - he ticked every box.

“All of our kids can play and act so we’re in good shape. I’m delighted not only with Craig but all of our cast. We’ve got a film to make now but this cast gives us the best possible chance to make it work.”

Looking at that cheeky smile one thing Craig will have to work on is his ‘sourpuss’, so he can perfect that famous scowl.
