Coleman praises Naismith's impact as Everton beat Swansea 3-1

Seamus Coleman felt Steven Naismith’s second-half introduction was key to Everton’s 3-1 win over Swansea which booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Naismith came on just after the hour-mark and put the hosts 2-1 up, capitalising on a mistake from Neil Taylor, before winning the penalty from which Leighton Baines sealed the win.

Coleman said on ITV: “Steven Naismith came on and changed the game. He got us a goal and won the penalty.”

Baines claimed the Toffees deserved the win, but admitted their performance had not up to their usual standards.

“I think we were the better team and deserved the win,” he said. “If anything we caused ourselves problems, were a bit sloppy at times in possession. That’s something we know we can improve on.”
