Luis Suarez has been handed his first Barclays Premier League appearance since April as Liverpool attempt to deepen Sunderland’s woes.
The 26-year-old striker returns from his 10-game suspension in the Capital One Cup defeat at Manchester United in midweek, and has been included in an unchanged side by Brendan Rodgers, who also kept faith with Black Cats old boys Simon Mignolet and Jordan Henderson.
Interim Sunderland head coach Kevin Ball named the same team which started against Peterborough in midweek, and that meant a first league start for midfielder Lee Cattermole since February 9.
