Celtic summer signing Steven Mouyokolo will be out of action for six months after suffering a complete rupture of an Achilles tendon.

The 26-year-old defender returned to France where he has had surgery on the injury he picked up at training on Monday, and the first match he will miss is Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hearts at Tynecastle.

New striker Teemu Pukki goes into the squad but Neil Lennon’s other new signing, Israel midfielder Nir Biton, will join up with the Hoops next week for a Champions League clash with AC Milan at San Siro, while James Forrest is out after his sciatica problem flared up again.

Provisional squad: Forster, Matthews, Lustig, Van Dijk, Mulgrew, Ambrose, Izaguirre, Rogic, Pukki, Commons, Brown, Ledley, Samaras, Stokes, Boerrigter, McGeouch, Balde, Zaluska.
