Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is confident that star man Gareth Bale will overcome his ankle injury in time for Sunday’s home clash against Manchester City.

Bale has been training with the team for the last two days and should be fit, while Jermain Defoe also looks set to return after a pelvis injury lay-off.
