Whelan out; McCarthy expected to start

Giovanni Trapattoni will have to make a late change to his starting side for tonight's World Cup qualifier against Sweden.

James McCarthy is now expected to be parachuted into the team after Glen Whelan was ruled out with an ankle injury.
