Gerrard makes 600th appearance for Reds

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard made his 600th appearance for his boyhood side as the Reds looked to extend their remarkable record at home to Newcastle.

The 32-year-old became only the 10th player to reach the milestone for the club, who are unbeaten in 17 league matches – having won 15 – against the Magpies at home, as Brendan Rodgers named the same team which contested last weekend’s Merseyside derby.
