Rooney back on the bench for United

Wayne Rooney was back on the bench for Manchester United as they faced Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Despite Antonio Valencia’s absence, Sir Alex Ferguson opted not to pair Rooney with Robin van Persie, with the return of Paul Scholes being the only change from the team that beat Liverpool last week.
