FIFA corruption chief faces resistance

The man charged with looking into corruption at FIFA has revealed he has encountered resistance in his job.

Mark Pieth, brought in by president Sepp Blatter as chairman of FIFA’s Independent Governance Committee, believes some members of the organisation are resisting his efforts.

Pieth told BBC Sport: “We’ve introduced this new, independent judicial system but I think they need to look at the past.

“They have skeletons in the cupboard, that’s true.

“There are some, usually older people, who don’t agree with what is happening.”
