Captain Stephen Gerrard believes it is unfair to blame Wayne Rooney for England’s Euro 2012 exit.

Rooney, who was banned for the first two games of the tournament, was not at his best against Ukraine and Italy, who beat the Three Lions on penalties in the quarter-finals.
