Ferdinand and Scholes back for United
Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand returned to the Manchester United starting line-up as the Barclays Premier League champions aimed to continue their winning form by beating West Brom at Old Trafford.
Nani was not involved at all, so Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez joined top scorer Wayne Rooney in attack.
West Brom have not beaten United away from home since 1978, although they were the only side to take points from Old Trafford last term, and had Chris Brunt and Gabriel Tamas reinforcing the team that defeated Chelsea last weekend.
