Dalglish defiant in defeat

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was in defiant mood after seeing his side’s hopes of Champions League qualification dealt a potentially fatal blow at Sunderland.

Nicklas Bendtner’s second-half strike was enough to condemn the Merseysiders to a third successive Barclays Premier League defeat which left them 10 points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal.
