Half-time review: Contrasting fortunes for QPR's new signings
Bobby Zamora has marked his debut for QPR with a 16th-minute strike against Wolves.
The home side managed to hold on to their lead until half time despite the sending off of another new signing, Djibril Cisse. Cisse was involved in an altercation with Roger Johnson and was dismissed for violent conduct.
A victory for Wigan would see them move off the bottom of the league at the expense of Blackburn, but they were being held 0-0 by Everton at the DW Stadium.
There were no goals in any of the other Premier League matches.
Norwich had the better of the chances at Carrow Road against Bolton, but could not break the deadlock.
Neither could West Brom, who were hosting Swansea, and Stoke, who faced Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke’s job was made harder following Robert Huth’s sending off just before the break. Television replays showed he may have been unlucky to be given a straight red for his lunge on David Meyler, as it appeared he made an attempt to pull out as he slid in on the snowy pitch.
Manchester City are at home to Fulham in the 5.30pm match.
