Roberto Mancini insisted Glen Johnson’s tackle on Joleon Lescott during last night’s Carling Cup semi-final was worse than the one that landed Vincent Kompany with his four-match ban.

The Manchester City manager clashed angrily with Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard after last night’s 1-0 Carling Cup defeat.
