FA rescind Sammon red card from United game
Wigan striker Conor Sammon will be available to face Stoke in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday after the Football Association today upheld his claim for wrongful dismissal.
The 25-year-old was shown a straight red card by referee Phil Dowd during the first half of Wigan’s 5-0 defeat by Manchester United on Monday for catching Michael Carrick in the face with his hand, despite the contact appearing to be accidental.
