Wigan striker Conor Sammon will be available to face Stoke in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday after the Football Association today upheld his claim for wrongful dismissal.

The 25-year-old was shown a straight red card by referee Phil Dowd during the first half of Wigan’s 5-0 defeat by Manchester United on Monday for catching Michael Carrick in the face with his hand, despite the contact appearing to be accidental.
