Sorensen staying with Stoke

Stoke goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has signed a new contract with the Barclays Premier League club, the player has announced on his Twitter account.

Sorensen, who joined the club from Aston Villa in 2008, will remain at the Britannia Stadium until the end of the 2013/14 season.

Sorensen ’tweeted’: “Just signed a new contract this morning. Proud to be a Potter for another 2 1/2 years.”

The 35-year-old Denmark international has played 13 games this season – five in the league, six in Europe and two in the Carling Cup.
