Irwin expects Fergie to continue

Denis Irwin has hailed Alex Ferguson’s “phenomenal” 25-year tenure as Manchester United manager – and expects, with Manchester City posing the latest challenge to the Red Devils’ supremacy, that the Scot will continue for some time yet.

Ferguson celebrated a quarter of a century in charge at Old Trafford last weekend, during which he has led United to a glut of trophies, including 12 Premier League and two Champions League titles.
