Penalty ends Galway's 22-game losing streak
Galway United 2 Dundalk 2
An Alan Murphy penalty gave bottom-of-the-table Galway United their first point since early April as they ended an unenviable 22-match losing run.
However, Galway manager Sean Connor now looks set to leave the club as it's believed a compensation package had been agreed with him before the game.
Korean Jin Gu Kim shot Galway in front on ten minutes, controlling a cross from full-back Eric Holland before shooting past Peter Cherrie.
But Dundalk were the better side and they deservedly levelled on 40 minutes, Marc Griffin working the ball to Johnny Breen to score.
Mark Quigley then put Dundalk in front in the 80th minute with another stunning trademark strike.
Galway kept battling, though, and got their reward on 85 minutes. Dundalk captain Simon Madden handled inside the area and Galway skipper Murphy kept his nerve to equalise from the penalty.
