Galway looking to break bad run
Galway United are still looking to break their horrible run of bad form as they take on Dundalk at Terryland Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
Sean Connor’s side remain rooted to the foot of the table and are surely set to be spending next season in the First Division.
Laurence Gaughan returns from suspension for Galway, while Johnny Keane remains out with a knee injury.
Victor Collins (ankle) and Sean Kelly (knee) are both doubts.
Dundalk travel west without long-term injury victims Eoghan Osborne (fractured tibia), Stephen McDonnell (knee) and Stephen Maher (fractured metatarsal).
Paul Murphy is also ruled out with a back injury, while Chris Kerr (hamstring tendon avulsion) is another long term absentee.
Ross Gaynor is a doubt as he is struggling with an ankle injury, while Greg Bolger misses the game through suspension.
Dundalk defender Colin Hawkins said: “We have eight games left and we’ll finish as high as we can. I’d be hoping we’ll finish higher than sixth anyway.
“But if we look back on sixth, we wouldn’t be happy with that as a group. We would all have to look at ourselves individually. But I definitely feel that the injuries have really, really killed us all through the year.”
