Derry looking to keep home record intact
Derry City will look to keep the pressure on Shamrock Rovers at the top of the table as they take on UCD at the Brandywell, kick-off 7.45pm.
The Candystripes are just two points off the top of the table and they will be looking to keep their impressive unbeaten home record in tact.
Gareth Mc Glynn is ruled out for City as he is struggling with a knee injury, while Michael Mc Crudden is also likely to miss out with an ankle injury.
City manager Stephen Kenny said: “We have to strive to have the level of intensity that we have shown every week. The players have been extremely consistent and have to show the hunger required to continue to win more.”
Danny Ledwith is ill and will miss the trip north, while Sean Harding is also ruled out with a groin strain.
Michael Leahy is also missing as he is serving a suspension for getting sent off in Monday’s Cup defeat to Shamrock Rovers.
Ciaran Nangle remains a doubt as he recovers from a shin injury, as is Cillian Morrison who is struggling with a hip flexor concern.
UCD boss Martin Russell said: “Going with a young squad to the Brandywell is never easy but we intend to give them a tough game.
“The defeat to Rovers was tough to take but we have to look at the positives and having drawn with them in The Bowl we know we can match them on our day.”
