Samba set for Rovers return

Blackburn boss Steve Kean is expecting to have skipper Christopher Samba available for the first time this season for tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Everton.

The central defender has missed the start of the campaign with a groin injury, but is likely to be included after getting a full week of training under his belt.

Ryan Nelsen will undergo a late fitness test on a knee problem, although Grant Hanley is fit after receiving a blow to the head in Wednesday night’s Carling Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday, and Brett Emerton could play his final game for the club before joining Sydney FC.

Provisional squad: Robinson, Bunn, Salgado, Ribeiro, Hanley, Givet, Samba, Olsson, Anderson, Emerton, Hoilett, Rochina, Dunn, Pedersen, Petrovic, Lowe, Nzonzi, Goodwillie, Roberts, Formica, Blackman.
