Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will be out for six weeks with a hamstring injury suffered during today’s Barclays Premier League game at West Brom.

The former England captain limped off in the second half of the 2-1 victory at The Hawthorns and manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed after the game Ferdinand will miss six weeks, meaning he will be out until the start of October.
