The Management Committee of Galway United tonight issued a statement endorsing a vote of no confidence in manager Sean Connor as the side slumped to a record-equalling 18th straight league defeat at Hunky Dory’s Park.

The troubled club want Connor out, but haven't the financial wherewithal to pay off his contract which has two-and-a-half years to run.

Depleted Galway gave debuts to two Koreans, but it was Drogheda who dominated from the off, scoring the only goal of the game on 20 minutes.

Stephen Quigley got forward to thread a perfect pass through for Tiarnan Mulvenna who ran on into the box to shot past keeper Conor Winn.

Galway had Korean midfielder Yob Son sent off on 70 minutes for appearing to elbow Gavin Brennan.
