No-show McCarthy looks out of running for Macedonia match

James McCarthy has failed to join up with the Ireland squad - and it seems there has been no contact between him and Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni for weeks.

The Wigan midfielder played a full 90 minutes on Sunday in the victory over Stoke City which kept his club in the Barclays Premier League.
