Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson made three changes to his side for this afternoon’s Barclays Premier League clash with Blackburn at Ewood Park as the Red Devils went in search of the point that would secure them a record 19th top-flight title.

As expected, goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak came in for the rested Edwin van der Sar, while Nani and Jonny Evans were also handed starts in place of Park Ji-sung and the injured John O’Shea.

Dimitar Berbatov, scorer of five goals against Rovers in the 7-1 thrashing at Old Trafford in November, was again on the bench as he had been for last Sunday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.

The hosts welcomed back Phil Jones and Michel Salgado to their first XI after they had missed last weekend’s 1-1 draw at West Ham due to back and knee problems respectively.

Blackburn: Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Phil Jones, Givet, Emerton, Jermaine Jones, Nzonzi, Olsson, Hoilett, Roberts.

Subs: Bunn, Dunn, Kalinic, Pedersen, Andrews, Santa Cruz, Mwaruwari.

Man Utd: Kuszczak, Fabio Da Silva, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Valencia, Giggs, Carrick, Nani, Rooney, Hernandez.

Subs: Amos, Evra, Owen, Anderson, Berbatov, Smalling, Scholes.

Referee: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)
