FA make flag error for Cup final

The FA were forced into a last-minute repair job after tens of thousands of Wembley flags were printed with the wrong teams on.

The flags will be handed out free to supporters of Stoke and Manchester City at today’s FA Cup final.

But the FA have said that due to an error by suppliers, part of each one needed to be cut off as the City flags stated they were playing Bolton, while the Stoke version had them facing Manchester United.

An FA spokesman said: “The flags had the incorrect details printed on them despite the third party supplier being sent the correct details by the FA.

“We have since amended the flags and they will be in place to help fans enjoy what will be a memorable occasion.”
