Ferguson to make Berbatov check

Alex Ferguson will check the fitness of leading scorer Dimitar Berbatov before deciding whether to include the Bulgarian in his plans for Manchester United’s Barclays Premier League clash with Everton at Old Trafford.

Berbatov missed Tuesday’s goalless draw at Newcastle with a minor groin strain and with the Champions League semi-final first leg clash with Schalke looming, with Ferguson will not want to take any chances even though United are looking to avoid failing to score in three successive games for the first time since 2007.
