McCrossan the only doubt for Drogs

Drogheda United are still looking for their first win of the league campaign and will be hoping to put that right when they take on Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds, kick-off 7.45pm.

Alan McNally is set to be included in the Drogheda travelling party after recovering from injury, which means Stephen McCrossan is United’s only doubt with a groin strain.

Drogheda boss Mick Cooke said: “The mood in the camp is very good at the moment. Galway were certainly the better team in the second half last week and it was good to come away from it with a point. But we are still a team trying to settle and I had made five changes to the side.

“Bray will be full of confidence after their tremendous win in Tallaght. They will be confident that they can take all three points, but we will have different thoughts on that. It is a bit of a boost that we have already won there this season, but that was in the cup, the pressures of the league are totally different.”

Gary Shaw remains out for Wanderers as he has a foot injury and Stephen Brennan is also ruled out with a calf strain.

There is also a doubt about Joe Kendrick who has missed Bray's last two outings with a thigh strain, but no decision on his availability will be made until just before kick-off.

Speaking about last week’s win at Tallaght Stadium, Bray's Director of Football Pat Devlin said: "It was very pleasing and the most pleasing thing is that we got the three points and kept a clean sheet.

“We set out our stall and adapted well. It was a great goal that won the game for us with a great build-up. It was an excellent team performance but we won't get carried away.”

Devlin added: "It will be a tough assignment (against Drogheda). They are a well marshaled and organised side. We have already played them in the EA Sports Cup and were beaten, so we know what to expect.”
