Three injured for Dundalk

In-form Dundalk will be looking to take the three points when they travel to the Brandywell to take on Derry City tonight (kick-off 7.35pm).

The Lilywhites must plan without Greg Bolger who is ruled out with a thigh strain.

Eoghan Osborne is also missing as he recovers from a fractured tibia, while Stephen Maher sits the game out with a groin strain.

Dean Bennett should return after recovering from a hamstring concern.

Dundalk striker Jason Byrne said: “Since I’ve been playing in the league, it has always been very hard to win up there.

“I don’t think I’ve won that many times there, probably about three or four times. But we have a team capable of going anywhere and winning, as we have showed this year. If we do our jobs as the gaffer asks, I think we should be OK.”

City, still looking for their first home win of the season must plan without Barry Molloy who is struggling with ankle ligament damage.

Candystripes boss Stephen Kenny has a strong squad to choose from as Molloy is the only injury concern, while Patrick McEleney returns after missing the last two league games.

City boss Kenny said: “Dundalk have got a lot of plaudits recently and they deserve them. They have been very good. I watched them against Cliftonville and they did well.

“They have a good attacking front four and they have Colin Hawkins, Jason Byrne and Mark Quigley - who have ten titles between them - so they have a good mixture of experience as well.”

Derry captain Kevin Deery added: “My picture of the game is both teams will have a go. I don't think Dundalk will come here and sit trying to get a point. They believe in themselves and they are scoring lots of goals.”
