Mark Quigley maintained his terrific start to the season with a brace of goals at Solitude as Dundalk came form behind to put one foot into the final of the Setanta Sports Cup.

Dundalk fell a goal behind on 25 minutes when Colin Hawkins failed to clear the Dundalk area and George McMullan fired past visiting keeper Peter Cherrie.

But Quigley levelled three minutes into the second half with a stunning strike, beating home keeper Jack Duffin from 25 yards with a dipping shot.

Daniel Kearns put Dundalk 2-1 up on the night on 73 minutes when his shot squirmed through the arms of Duffin.

Quigley then made the second leg something of a formality with his second and Dundalk’s third goal on 82 minutes when he worked a pass with Kearns before finding the net with yet another sublime strike from outside the area for his sixth goal of the season.
