Bale misses out for Spurs

Tottenham will be without Gareth Bale for tomorrow’s Champions League second round first leg clash at AC Milan after he failed to recover from a back injury.

Luka Modric (appendix) will train with the squad at the San Siro tonight but is unlikely to start tomorrow and Jermaine Jenas is missing through suspension.

Rafael van der Vaart should play after he showed good signs of recovery from his calf injury but Peter Crouch is a doubt with a back injury that has required him to have an epidural injection.
