Baggies rocked by suspensions

West Brom will be without two key defenders through suspension for the home Barclays Premier League clash with leaders Manchester United on Saturday.

Central defender Gabriel Tamas will start a three-game ban after his red card against Blackburn at the Hawthorns on Tuesday.

In addition, right-back Gonzalo Jara will have to serve a one-match suspension.

He collected his fifth yellow card of the campaign against Rovers.

With Jonas Olsson (Achilles) still sidelined, Baggies head coach Roberto Di Matteo has been forced to recall Gianni Zuiverloon from his loan spell at Ipswich.

Di Matteo confirmed: “Gabi (Tamas) is a big loss with Jonas already out.

“But Jara will also be suspended against United so we are struggling a bit at the back at the moment.”

Pablo Ibanez looks set to replace Tamas as the only other senior centre-back and he will partner Paul Scharner.

Ibanez has not started a game since the 3-0 home reversal against Stoke in November.

The only consolation for Albion is that midfielder Chris Brunt will be available after serving a one-match suspension.
