Butt heads to Hong Kong
Nicky Butt has accepted the offer of a three-month contract with Hong Kong outfit South China.
The out-of-contract former Manchester United star enjoyed mixed fortunes when he made a guest appearance for the club last month, scoring and earning man-of-the-match honours against TSW Pegasus despite missing a penalty.
However, the experience was enough to persuade Butt to spend an extended period with the club.
He will fly out in January and remain in Hong Kong until the beginning of May before returning to start taking his coaching badges.
“I had an enjoyable time out there,” he said.
“The experience was good, so I have decided to go for it.”
