Hleb debut on hold

Newcomer Alexander Hleb looks like having to put his Birmingham debut on hold and is set to miss the home Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

The former Arsenal player suffered a leg injury when on duty for Belarus in their mid-week Euro 2012 qualifier with Romania.

But fellow transfer deadline signings Jean Beausejour and Martin Jiranek will come into contention to face the Reds.

Veteran striker Kevin Phillips (calf) and defender Stuart Parnaby (hamstring) are not yet ready to return for the unbeaten Blues.

Birmingham (provisional squad): Foster, Carr, Murphy, Ridgewell, Dann, Johnson, Jirenek, Larsson, Gardner, Bowyer, Ferguson, Michel, Fahey, McFadden, Beausejour, Valles, Jerome, O’Connor, Zigic, Derbyshire, Taylor.
