Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic was forced to miss this afternoon’s Barclays Premier League clash with Birmingham after failing a late fitness test on a thigh injury.

Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic was forced to miss this afternoon’s Barclays Premier League clash with Birmingham after failing a late fitness test on a thigh injury.

The Croatia international was substituted in the midweek Carling Cup win at Southampton but, in his absence, Owen Coyle fielded the same side that beat West Ham last weekend.

Birmingham named James McFadden in their starting line-up at the Reebok Stadium despite doubts over a groin injury.

Lee Bowyer also featured in the team while Matt Derbyshire, who scored against Rochdale on Thursday, had to settle for a place on the bench.
