O’Connor back for Pat's
St Patrick’s Athletic have the chance to return to the top of the Airtricity League Premier Division when they take on Sporting Fingal this afternoon (kick off: 3pm).
Gareth O’Connor is available again for Saints having served a one-match suspension.
Vinny Faherty is suspended and Ian Bermingham is a doubt as he is struggling with a foot injury.
Saints boss Pete Mahon said: “Sporting Fingal have done great over the last two and a half years. They showed in the away leg against Maritimo just how good they are, they’ve a good squad with some high profile players and they will be a test for us.
“They’ve had some good results this season but also a few disappointing ones. Sometimes after a European night there might be on a bit of a comedown for a team but we will focus on our own game and just prepare properly.”
For Fingal, Colin Hawkins has at least another three weeks on the sidelines with broken ribs.
Shaun Maher is doubtful because of a hamstring strain but Gary O’Neill may be in contention having resumed full training this week on the back of two months out with a groin problem.
Keith Quinn’s red card against Drogheda rules him out through suspension.
Fingal boss Liam Buckley said: “The Airtricity League campaign is our focus now. We’ve only had a few days’ rest but we’ll be ready for what should be a difficult challenge at Richmond Park.
“We’ve to play Pat’s three times during the remainder of the campaign so the results could be vital in terms of how the table develops.
“They’ve displayed an incredible degree of consistency since hitting top spot early in the campaign and any side that have beaten Bohemians on that trail are worthy title contenders.”
