Adebayor back for City
Emmanuel Adebayor returned to the Manchester City side against Wigan after a four-match suspension.
The Togo striker was one of four changes manager Roberto Mancini made to his team following the home defeat by Everton.
Shaun-Wright Phillips, Javier Garrido and Patrick Vieira were also included in the starting line-up with City aiming to get their bid for a top four slot back on track.
Gareth Barry, Craig Bellamy, Micah Richards and Stephen Ireland all stood down against a Wigan team showing one change following the victory against Burnley, with goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic drafted in because Chris Kirkland has a virus.
