Ireland was on the bench in midweek after recovering from injury with City defeating Manchester United 2-1 in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg.

Manager Roberto Mancini intends to use two-goal hero Carlos Tevez sparingly at Glanford Park if at all.

Roque Santa Cruz and recent signing Patrick Vieira are both sidelined with calf injuries.
