Captain returns for Cork's push for Europe
Galway United are likely to have several players missing for their vital final league fixture of the season against Cork City at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.
United will be without Garry Breen and Shane Guthrie through suspension and will more than likely revert to Seamus Conneely and Sean Kelly at centre back.
Iarfhlaith Davoren and John Russell are doubts, so Alan Murphy is expected to slot into midfield with Kelly moving into the back four.
For City, skipper Dan Murray returns from suspension, but Danny Murphy will miss out after being sent off against Dundalk.
Joe Gamble has returned to training this week and may feature at some point, but Timmy Kiely remains sidelined.
Dan Connor has aggravated his knee injury in training and is also set to miss out.
City boss Paul Doolin said: “Galway have done very well this season, and they also need to get a result, so they will certainly put it up to us.
“We’ve been excellent over the past few weeks with the exception of the Bohs game.
“We’ve beaten Derry, Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk, and we’re nearly there, so we just need to ensure that we get a result tomorrow night.
“I’ve been around the game long enough to know that you have to earn things and I think if we do secure European qualification then we will have deserved it.”
